Up we go!

The 2nd floor is well on its way. They were able to work all day Friday and Saturday despite the weather man's 100% prediction of rain. The outside is really starting to take shape. The front and back porches are now framed. We waded through the mud on Saturday and walked the inside for the first time. It was very exciting! We also met with the tile man on Saturday to pick out tile for the floors and countertops. He seemed to be very creative with lots of ideas on how to make it unique. I can't wait to see the finished product.

On Sunday, David and the kids climbed up a makeshift ladder and toured the 2nd floor. Tanner and Lyndsey were thrilled to be in their rooms. We have to have our paint colors selected by tomorrow, so we headed to the mall to look for new bedding. I am shocked to say that everyone found exactly what they were looking for. Can you believe it? It was a very successful shopping trip. Everyone has selected their bedroom color except Lyndsey and she has narrowed her choices down to a very hot pink, a very lime green and a very bright blue. I know that whatever she chooses, it will suit her perfectly!
A big surprise......We thought we were getting glue down hardwood floors. We didn't realize that they had already figured nail downs in our budget (which is what I really wanted from the start). We are thrilled!!!! We are temporarily living in David's grandmother's house. It is around 60 years old, but for the most part her hardwood flooring is absolutely gorgeous! It just has so much character and has stood the test of time. Have I said lately how impressed I am with our builder?

Here are some of the choices we have made so far:

brick - Winter Frost
stone - Ledgerstone Suede
roof - Weatherwood

main paint color - Earthy Cane (Porter 313-4)
trim color - Ivory Tower (Porter 313-1)

MBR & Tanner's room - Mountain Stream (Porter 454-4)
Lyndsey's room - your guess is as good as mine (hopefully she'll know by tomorrow!)

Master bath tile - Trav Chiseled Umbria Savera w/parchment grout in Versailles pattern (8x8, 16x16, 12x12, & 18x24)
MB countertop - Santa Cecelia w/beveled edge

Back entry & laundry room tile - Genoa Marini in hopscotch pattern (13x13 & 20x20)
Guest bath - Trav Umbria Pendio (18x18)

Lyndsey's bath tile - Lago natural w/glass inserts
L countertop - Santa Cecelia with eased edge

Tanner's bath tile - Rochester beige w/river rock accents
T shower floor - River rock
T countertop - Santa Cecelia with eased edge

Kitchen countertop - Tropic Brown upgrade
Kitchen & laundry cabinets - chocolate glazed cream
Bathroom cabinets - Mahogany rub

I know there are still many decisions left to be made. Hopefully everything will come together beautifully. We'll see! :)
