Here we go! We are excited to be first time home builders. This will record our progress from start to finish. The process began in January and is scheduled to be completed in April. We hope you enjoy!

The brick and the first piece of metal roof are done. They also put up some kind of wire and stucco-looking mud over the areas that will be stone. We are very anxious to see the stone go up, just to see what the finished house will look like. They also came back over the weekend to add the cedar shake siding above the porch. Stone should be going up soon. I think gutters are coming this week and the trim and cedar shake will be painted. We decided to paint the cedar shake the same color as the trim (Musket Brown). It's only paint, right?

All of the sheetrock has been hung and is ready to be sanded. This should be a very exciting week. I heard that porches will be poured this week. Once all the paint, porches and stone are done outside, we should be able to get a feel for the finished result! How exciting.

Hardwood floors are coming this week (Friday). The painter said last Friday that we were about a week out from painting inside. Things are really coming together and so far there is nothing that we don't absolutely love! We went shopping for the grill over the weekend and decided on a Char-Broil Commercial Infrared Grill. After the back porch is poured, the brickers will come back and brick it in. It will be so nice to grill again!
